STAR THEATRE COVID POLICY

We are thrilled to be back producing live theatre once again! We can’t wait to continue sharing our exciting lineup of productions and programs with you.
The health and safety of audiences, artists, staff, and the entire community are the highest priority for The Star Theatre, especially as circumstances surrounding COVID-19 continue to evolve. Through close consultation with medical and public health officials, we have announced a new set of policies for attending a play or event at The Star Theatre.
All patrons, age 12 or older, who attend a performance or event at The Star Theatre will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and present proof of vaccination, or present negative results of a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance.
“Fully vaccinated” is defined by the CDC as being at least 14 days after the receipt of the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (such as the currently available Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna) or one dose of a single-dose vaccine (like Johnson & Johnson).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is 1) the physical COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued to the patron at the time of vaccination, 2) a photograph of the patron’s COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, or 3) a digital vaccination record. All residents of California may request a digital vaccination record at
https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov
Patrons, age 12 or older, who have not received a COVID-19 vaccination will be required to present the negative results of a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of entering The Star Theatre. Other tests, including rapid tests and over-the-counter tests, will not be accepted as proof of negative results of COVID-19.
Patrons attending performances must wear masks throughout the performance as an additional safety measure, regardless of vaccination or testing status.
For all patrons under the age of 12, we recommend taking a COVID-19 PCR or antigen (“rapid”) test before attending the Star to ensure they are healthy and free of COVID-19. Masks are required at all times while indoors, regardless of testing status or age (children under 2 years of age are exempted from mask requirement per CDC guidelines).
To find testing locations and to schedule a free COVID-19 test, visit San Diego County’s Test Scheduler at:
All documents will be checked by The Star Theatre staff members before patrons will be admitted to the theatre or event space. The Star Theatre reserves the right to deny admission to any patron who does not provide the necessary documentation or follow any COVID-related policy.
Thank you for helping us provide safe, live theatre to our community!
